After weeks of leaks, OnePlus has finally announced the OnePlus Ace 3, a sub-flagship offering, in the Chinese market. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip onboard, the device rivals the likes of the Realme GT 5, the Redmi K70, the iQOO Neo 9, and the Honor 90 GT in China. Here is a look at the specifications, features, and price of the device.
Design and Display
The OnePlus Ace 3 has a similar design language to the recent OnePlus’ numbered flagship and Ace-branded phones, such as the Ace 2 and Ace 2 Pro. On the front, the Ace 3 has a curved-edge OLED panel with centred punch-hole, and the back panel features a round camera module featuring a triple camera unit. It measures 163.30 x 75.27 x 8.8mm and weighs 207 grams. Buyers can avail the Ace 3 in color options, such as Star Black, Moon Sea Blue, and Sand Gold.
The Ace 3 is equipped with a 6.7-inch BOE-supplied OLED ProXDR panel that offers a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit colors. In addition, it offers a peak brightness of 4,500 nits like the OnePlus 12’s screen. In addition, the screen is optimized to offer an enhanced gaming experience.
Specifications and Camera
The OnePlus Ace 3 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is the same chip that powers the OnePlus 11 from last year. It is the first SD8G2-powered phone to ship with a massive 5,500mAh battery. While the device comes with support for 100W wired charging, there is no support for wireless charging.
The Ace 3 is equipped with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. It comes preloaded with the ColorOS 14-based Android 14. It is equipped with other features, such as dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, dual stereo speakers, an x-axis liner motor, and an alert slider.
For selfies, the OnePlus Ace 3 has a 16-megapixel camera on the front. The rear camera setup has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS support. A 2-megapixel macro camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens are available to complement it.
Price and Availablity
The OnePlus Ace 3 has arrived in China in three variants, such as:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: ¥2,599 (~$365)
- 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: ¥2,999 (~$420)
- 16GB RAM + 1TB storage: ¥3,499 (~$490)
It will hit the shelves on January 8. The pre-orders are open at the moment.
The OnePlus Ace 3 will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. However, its rebranded version dubbed the OnePlus 12R will debut along with the OnePlus 12 on Jan. 23 in markets, such as North America, Europe, and India.
