So, what did Samsung say about the Galaxy Ring? Samsung claimed that it is a “cutting edge” device and “a powerful and accessible health and wellness device, here to change the shape of future health like only Samsung can.” It was announced by Dr. Matthew Wiggins, a clinical research scientist at Samsung Research.

In terms of appearance, the Galaxy Ring’s teaser suggests that it could be black in color. Samsung will confirm the technical details and availability of the Galaxy Ring later this year. It is expected to rival smart rings like Oura and Evie.

Samsung’s next major event this year will be the second Galaxy Unpacked event, which could be held in July for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable phones. There is a possibility that the Galaxy Ring may go official alongside the new foldables.

As per previous reports, the Galaxy Ring may come with support for EKG and smart home controls. As per a patent filing seen in February 2023, Samsung’s first smart ring will support tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading health, fitness, and sleep-related information. In addition, Samsung may incorporate some AI features into its first smart ring.

In related news, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus have been launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in markets such as the US, South Korea, and China. In other regions, both phones will arrive with the Exynos 2400 chip. The S24 Ultra, on the other hand, will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all markets. These devices are priced at $799, $999, and $1,299, respectively.
