Apple’s popular iPad Air might be getting a design update if leaked renders are to be believed. 91Mobiles shared a set of CAD renders of the upcoming iPad Air and they show some interesting notable changes.

Firstly, the new iPad Air seems to keep the look of the 4th and 5th generation models but will be bigger. This is to fit a larger 12.9-inch screen. So from the front, it looks kinda like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but it has thicker bezels, similar to the 10.9-inch iPad Air.

Besides the screen, another big change is at the back. The new model might swap its single, round camera for a longer, pill-shaped one, like what we’ve seen on the iPhone X and XS.

Further speculation suggests the next iPad Air might pack the M2 chip, an upgrade from the current M1. Production is rumored to begin in early 2024, with a potential launch in March.

Just to recap, the last iPad Air was released in 2022. Interestingly, 2023 marked the first year Apple didn’t release a new tablet. So, there’s speculation that in 2024, Apple might update its entire iPad range, as previous reports have suggested.

The 2022 iPad Air comes with a 10.9-inches Liquid Retina IPS LCD display with 500 nits of brightness. It’s powered by an M1 chip and is paired with up to 256GB of storage.

There is a single 12MP wide camera on the back and a 12MP ultra-wide camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It comes with a 28.6Wh battery.
