Red Magic has just revealed its plans to launch a special edition smartphone soon in the Chinese market called Red Magic 9 Pro Year of the Dragon Limited Edition. While details remain somewhat mysterious, the company teases “new configurations, new colors, and a new atmosphere” for this exclusive release.
The Year of the Dragon Limited Edition seems to draw inspiration from the Red Magic 9 Pro Transparent Silver model, adorned with elements paying homage to the Chinese dragon, possibly featuring a predominant color scheme of white or silver. More details about the design are expected to be unveiled in the coming days. That being said, the specs of the smartphone will likely be the same as the Red Magic 9 Pro, apart from potential new memory and storage configurations.
Red Magic 9 Pro spec
The Red Magic 9 Pro boasts a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a touch response of up to 960Hz. The display supports a 10-bit color depth, covering 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and reaching a brightness of up to 1600 nits. It also incorporates an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
Powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and Adreno 750 GPU, the phone offers various RAM and storage options utilizing UFS 4.0 technology. Running on Android 14 with Redmagic OS 9.0, it supports dual SIM cards and features a camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP under-display front-facing camera.
Audio features include a 3.5mm audio jack, dual speakers, and DTS:X Ultra support, complemented by three microphones. Weighing 229g with dimensions of 163.98×76.35×8.9mm, the phone ensures connectivity through 5G support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and NFC. The device has a 6500mAh battery with 80W fast charging capabilities.
