As expected at a launch event held today, the OnePlus 12 has been announced in the global markets. The brand has also announced two more products alongside. The latest number series flagship arrives as the successor to the last year’s OnePlus 11. It packs significant upgrades over its predecessor. The smartphone competes against the likes of the iQOO 12 Pro, Vivo X100 and more in the market.

The OnePlus 12 (review) for the global markets is the same as the variant available in China since late last year. It retains the same design as its predecessor with a half pill-shaped island housing a circular camera module on the back panel. It has a slim profile with a metal middle frame. The device is IP65-certified dust and water-resistant. 

On the display front, the OnePlus 12 has a 6.82-inch curved AMOLED screen with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. It features a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz LTPO display, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. There is Pixelworks X7 independent display processor for an enhanced visual experience during gaming. The device is HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and DisplayMate A+ certified. The smartphone also has Aqua Touch technology that makes it usable with wet hands. The screen is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

In the photography department, the OnePlus 12 sports triple rear cameras. The setup comprises of a 50MP Sony LYT 808 primary sensor paired with an 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP OIS-enabled periscope unit. Up front, there is a 32MP selfie snapper. The smartphone of course comes with legendary camera maker Hasselblad’s image processing. 

Under the hood, the OnePlus 12 houses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It packs up to 16GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4 storage. There is a large 9140mm² vapor chamber cooling system for heat dissipation. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,400mAh battery unit with support for 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Software-wise, it ships with Android 14 OS out of the box. 

Connectivity options on the OnePlus 12 include dual-SIM, WiFi-7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB 3.2 Gen1 port. 

OnePlus 12 pricing and availability

The OnePlus 12 is offered in Silky Black and Flowy Emerald colors. In India it starts at Rs 64,999 for the base 8GB + 256GB variant. The 16GB + 512GB option costs Rs 69,999. In the US and European markets, the same configurations are priced at $800/EUR949 and $900/EUR 1,099 respectively. The pre-orders start today with sales commencing from January 30 in India and February 6 in North America.
