In November 2023, iQOO launched the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in China. By launching the iQOO 12 in other markets in December, it became the first brand to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone in the global market. In December, it unveiled the Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the Dimensity 9300 chipsets, respectively. New reports suggest that the brand may launch the iQOO Z9 and the iQOO 12s in the first half of this year in the home market.
iQOO Z9, iQOO 12S: What’s known so far
According to the tipster Smart Pikachu, the iQOO Z9 is expected to come with the Dimensity 8300 chipset. This positions the device as a strong competitor against the Redmi K70e, which also features the same chip. The leaker emphasized that the main focus of the iQOO Z9 will be on providing a long battery life.
To recall, the iQOO Z8 came with the Dimensity 8200 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. Hence, it appears that the Z9 may house a bigger battery than what was offered on the iQOO Z8.
The leaker further revealed that the iQOO 12s is also in the works for the Chinese market. The said device is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Unfortunately, the leaker did not reveal anything else about the Z9 and 12s smartphones.
In related news, tipster Digital Chat Station recently leaked that iQOO is also said to be working on a phone that will feature Qualcomm’s upcoming chipset having the SM-8635 part number. The said chip could be the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 or a Snapdragon 8 series chip. There is a possibility that the device could be called the iQOO Neo 9 SE when it arrives on the market. The said device is expected to feature a flat OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution, 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1 T of UFS 4.0 storage, a 5,000mAh+ battery, 120W fast charging, and a plastic frame.
