Samsung made a surprise announcement of its first smart ring at the Galaxy S24 series unveiling last month. Although it was rumored prior to the announcement, the Galaxy Ring has garnered plenty of excitement even though the official launch seems quite months away. Now, in a new development, a Samsung executive has confirmed the launch timeline of the wearable device.

Samsung’s Global Head of B2B Wearable/ IoT/ Accessory Daniel Seung Lee shared on LinkedIn that the new health and wellness wearable product is launching in the second half of the year. Here, the device the executive is referring to is indeed the Galaxy Ring.

The revelation from the Samsung executive is in line with the previously rumored timeline by a consumer tech analyst. The South Korean brand conducts two Galaxy Unpacked events every year with the second one in August. However, last year marked the first time it was held early at the end of July hence, this year Samsung’s plans remain to be seen. The event usually focuses on the new generation Galaxy Z Foldables, Tablets, and Watches. Hence, the Galaxy Ring launching at the same event doesn’t come as a surprise.

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Ring was spotted in the Good Lock app. It suggests that the smart ring’s development is underway. The wearable device is rumoured to come in sizes up to 13 and it is said to be ridiculously lightweight. It will also be offered in three finishes. Meanwhile, the teaser video confirmed the presence of the heart-rate monitor, support for Samsung Health, and pogo pins on the Galaxy Ring.
