Gamers and Intel fanboys have an extra reason to celebrate today. Intel has unveiled the i9-14900KS, the crown jewel of their 14th generation desktop processor family. This unlocked beast came through the gate swinging, boasting a record-breaking turbo frequency of up to 6.2 GHz. It’s not just setting new records, it’s pushing the boundaries of desktop performance. The launch date of the processor was previously revealed in a report by VideoCardz.

The CPU supports up to 192GB of DDR5 memory & is compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards.

Official benchmarks claim a 15% gaming performance leap over the previous generation, while content creators will enjoy significant efficiency gains in demanding workflows like 3D rendering.

The i9-14900KS boasts a flagship set of features: a record-breaking 6.2 GHz turbo frequency fueled by Thermal Velocity Boost technology, 24 cores, 32 threads, 150W base power, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, and 20 PCIe lanes (including 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes). Gamers can expect an extra edge with Intel Gaming Optimizer (APO), delivering up to an 11% performance boost in supported titles (currently 14 games). Additionally, it supports up to 192GB of DDR5 memory and is compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards.

The i9-14900KS will be priced at $689, and it will be available for purchase boxed at retailers or pre-integrated into high-end systems from Intel and its partners.
