Samsung Electronics is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This software upgrade brings the latest security patch to the company’s flagship foldable smartphone in the Indian market. So here are all the details.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 March 2024 Security Update

The South Korean tech giant’s latest update is upgrading the security patch level on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 to March 2024. It is worth noting that this update is currently rolling out in India and only helps keep the device updated for better security. In other words, the foldable phone won’t see any major improvements in aspects like performance or photography. You can head to Settings and then go to Software Update. If you have received the update, then simply tap on “Download and Install”. The software update package is around 400MB in size.

To recall, the brand released the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 globally back in July 2023. This model arrives with an improved hinge design compared to its predecessor along with top notch specs and features. The primary screen is a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel that offers 2K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the cover display is a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen that also offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 904 x 2316 resolution.

The rear packs a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, while the front houses a 4-megapixel + 10-megapixel dual camera. Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that is paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. A 4,400mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 25W wired and 15W wireless fast charging.
