As per various reports in the past, Xiaomi is working on Mix Flip to rival clamshell foldable phones. Some key details of the device have already been leaked. The device had bagged MIIT certification in January this year suggesting the presence of satellite connectivity. Now reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared new information about the Mix Flip on Weibo.

Xiaomi Mix Flip ditches satellite communication

DCS says that Xiaomi did not add satellite communication on the Mix Flip in the end. However, the foldable clamshell phone is getting a telephoto camera and a larger battery. The tipster does not reveal any more details like the exact battery capacity. Previously, he stated that the device would feature a 50MP primary lens and a telephoto unit with 3x zoom support. The Mix Flip’s cover screen and camera module have a simple appeal. The internal screen is said to have zero perceptible creases.

The Mix Flip will likely be accompanied by the Mix Fold 4. Xiaomi and Honor have only launched book-style foldable phones compared to Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, and Huawei which offer both clamshell and horizontal folding phones. As per DCS, the Mix Fold 4 will be extremely thin and lightweight. It is tipped to have a 50MP quad-camera setup including a periscope lens.

Both the Xiaomi Mix Flip and Mix Fold 4 are rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Xiaomi has yet to share anything official about the existence of Mix Flip and Mix Fold 4. We should expect more details to crop in the near future.
