The HP USB-C Travel Hub G3 has been officially unveiled. The new HP travel accessory has five ports and weighs just 63.5g with dimensions of 116 x 42 x 14mm. The third-generation HP USB-C Travel Hub G3 dock is a competitor to the Lenovo USB-C Slim Travel Dock released in February during the Mobile World Congress.

The new HP Travel Hub dock comes with a lower price tag than the Lenovo USB-C Slim Travel Dock although it omits the MicroSD and SD card slots present in the Lenovo product. There are two USB Type-C ports on the gadget with individual outputs of 10Gbps. There are also two USB Type-A ports both rated at 10Gbps, in addition to a single full-sized HDMI port capable of delivering up to 4K output with 60Hz refresh rate. The travel hub dock can recharge a connected device at up to 65W with several Power Delivery (PD) profiles supported. Power supply to the HP USB-C Travel Hub G3 is via a 90W outlet which is sold separately. The supported PD profiles are 20V/ 3.25A, 5V/ 1A, 9V/ 1.33A, 10V/ 3A, 12V/ 3.33A, 15V/ 3A, and 15V/ 3.67A.

The new HP USB-C Travel Hub G3 dock is lightweight and sufficiently compact. It is offered at a significantly lower price than the Lenovo USB-C Slim Travel Dock at a retail price of $69.99. In comparison, the Lenovo Slim Travel Dock is priced at about $90.
