Oppo has officially launched its latest Watch X smartwatch in China, less than a month after its Malaysian debut. While the smartwatch retains the same core specifications as its global counterpart, there are a few key differences catered to the Chinese market. So let’s get into the specifications here.
Oppo Watch X Specifications
The Oppo Watch X maintains its distinctive circular design with a polished stainless steel case. The front has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that is protected by Sapphire Crystal Glass and boasts a 466×466 pixel resolution. The screen has an impressive 1000-nit peak brightness and supports Always-on Display technology.
There are two physical controls – a rotating dial and a button – that protrude from the right side of the case. The watch also has MIL-STD 810H durability certification and IP68 water resistance to a depth of 50 meters.
Under the hood, the Oppo Watch X runs on a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Software-wise, it runs two operating systems, Color OS, and RTOS, much like in the latest OnePlus Watch 2.
Color OS runs on the W5 Gen 1 chip, while RTOS uses a separate BES2700 chip, along with 4GB of eMMC storage. RTOS stays on continuously, handling background tasks and more light activities like calls and notifications.
There’s also eSIM support which means you can use the watch to make and take calls. This feature is missing on the global variant of the Oppo Watch X.
Nonetheless, thanks to the combination of two operating systems, the Oppo Watch X offers a battery life of up to 100 hours. It takes around 60 minutes to fully charge the device.
As for health and wellness, the Watch X is equipped with an 8-channel heart rate sensor and a 16-channel blood oxygen sensor that covers continuous heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen levels, and stress tracking. It also offers comprehensive sleep analysis, including a Sleep Snoring Risk Assessment feature.
Moreover, you get over 100 sports modes with automatic recognition for activities like running, walking, cycling, and swimming. The watch also has dual-band GPS (L1 + L5) support with a 5-satellite positioning system (Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS) that lets you navigate your route easily and accurately. There’s also support for car key feature in vehicles of brands like Ideal, BYD, Te Nengxing, Leapmotor, Maverick Electric, and Venucia.
Pricing and Availability
The Oppo Watch X is available in China in “Thousands of Sails Blue,” “Desert Silver Moon,” and “Starry Night Flying” colors at retail prices of 2499 yuan, 2399 yuan, and 2299 yuan, respectively. You can buy the smartwatch from JD.com in China.
