After weeks of leaks, Xiaomi unveiled the Civi 4 Pro smartphone in China last week. Unlike its predecessor Civi models, the Civi 4 Pro promises top-notch performance as it features the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Starting today at 10 a.m. (local time), the device went on sale for the first time in China. Soon after it was made available for purchase, the company took to its Weibo handle to confirm that the sales of the Civi 4 Pro exceeded 200 percent of the entire day’s total of its previous generation, the Xiaomi Civi 3 from last year.
It should be noted that the Civi 4 Pro was able to achieve this amazing feat in just 10 minutes of going on sale. In terms of pricing, it costs 2,999 Yuan ($415) for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant, 3,299 Yuan ($460) for the 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage edition, and 3,599 Yuan (~$500) for the 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage version.
Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro specifications
The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro has a 6.55-inch AMOELD CSOT C8 display with curved edges. The screen supports up to 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3000 nits of peak brightness. The dual selfie camera system of the phone features a 32-megapixel primary camera and a 32-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
The Leica-optimized rear camera setup of the Civi 4 Pro has a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50E primary camera with OIS. It is accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered device ships with LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,700mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The phone offers other features, such as an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a metal frame, a 4184mm2 heat dissipation unit, an IR blaster, and a linear motor. Lastly, the phone runs on HyperOS-based Android 14.
