Google‘s next gen affordable smartphone model, the Pixel 8a, is getting near its official release. The device was been spotted on various rumors and reports in recent weeks, and the latest sighting confirms that its launch is right around the corner. So let’s have a look.
Google Pixel 8a takes a step closer to release
The Search Engine giant’s upcoming mid-range smartphone was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG platform. This device can be seen carrying four different model numbers, namely G8HNN, GKV4X, G6GPR, and G576D. These are listed with support for Bluetooth 5.3. These four model numbers are in line with one of our previous reports. The Pixel 8a is the direct successor to the Pixel 7a model, which launched back in May 2023.
Now, it is expected that the new phone could see a similar launch timeline that is further back by its various sightings. Last month, we covered the leaked specs of the Pixel 8a and its possible announcement at Google’s annual I/O Developer conference. Based on what we know so far, the next-gen affordable device may launch in four color options like Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and Mint.
It is rumored to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,400 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the Pixel 8a is expected to be equipped with an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset. This processor could be paired with 8GB of RAM and the device may support 27W wired fast charging. So stick around for more, as we will be providing more updates.
