Huawei has unveiled its latest iteration of the MateBook X Pro laptop at its “Hongmeng Eco Spring Communication Conference” held in China. The new iteration focuses on a thin and light design, powerful performance, and innovative features. Let’s go through the details in this article.
Huawei MateBook X Pro Specifications
The new MateBook X Pro boasts a remarkably lightweight design, tipping the scales at just 980 grams. This makes it lighter than even the 13.6-inch Apple MacBook Air.
The chassis is constructed with aviation-grade magnesium alloy for durability while maintaining a sleek profile. Huawei also touts the use of a new “Cloud Falcon architecture” alongside the industry-first “diamond aluminum material” for achieving this balance of weight.
The MateBook X Pro packs a punch in terms of performance too. It is equipped with up to the latest Core Ultra 9 processor, capable of delivering up to 40W of performance.
This, according to Huawei, surpasses the Apple MacBook Pro 14 in performance while maintaining a lighter weight. Huawei MateBook X Pro is also currently the only laptop within the 1-kilogram weight range to boast a Core Ultra 9 processor.
For connectivity, the MateBook X Pro comes with what Huawei says is the first-ever 3D three-dimensional metamaterial antenna. The technology promises network speeds 40% to 50% faster than those offered by the Apple MacBook Pro 14.
In the audio department, Huawei has introduced a new “smart sound screen technology”, which allegedly offers a 200% improvement in word accuracy, 230% better noise suppression, and the ability to isolate the speaker’s voice directly in front of the laptop. The laptop features a 6-speaker sound system.
The display on the MateBook X Pro is a 14.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 3120×2080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a high contrast ratio of 1 million:1, a significant reduction in screen reflection (70%), and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93%. Peak brightness is rated at 1000 nits.
This iteration of the MateBook X Pro marks the first time a Huawei laptop integrates the company’s Pangu large language model. It allows for AI-powered features like text summarization across various applications.
Additionally, Huawei has collaborated with other AI platforms like WPS AI, Wen Xinyiyan, and iFlytek Spark to offer a more comprehensive AI experience for users. The laptop supports 140W charging with Huawei’s Turbo charging standard.
