ThundeRobot has unveiled a new wired mechanical keyboard, the T96, in the Chinese market. This keyboard is primarily designed for gamers. The T96 comes in Twilight Purple color and is priced at 299 Yuan (around $41) for its initial launch on JD.com. Let’s check out its key specs.

The T96 boasts a compact 96% layout which is slightly more space-efficient than traditional 100% keyboard layouts, offering a reduction in space usage by 20% while retaining full keyboard functionality. The layout incorporates an independent metal multimedia roller on the right, allowing users to easily adjust volume and backlight brightness.
The keyboard is equipped with Kailh switches, known for their fast trigger speeds and durability. These switches are manufactured in the same factory as ROG switches and boast a 0.2ms infrared induction triggering mechanism, a 43gf trigger pressure, and a 55gf bottom-out pressure. The switches are also pre-lubricated for a smoother typing experience.
For enhanced comfort, the keyboard features an EVA cushion on the bottom and silicone dampening strips on both sides of the spacebar to eliminate internal cavity sound. Additionally, the T96 has a metal positioning plate for added stability and a USB-C interface.
The keyboard also supports full key hot-swap functionality, allowing users to customize their typing experience with different switch types. Furthermore, the keyboard boasts 19 preset RGB lighting effects, creating a visually immersive gaming atmosphere.
For added functionality, the T96 features several quick-access function keys. These keys allow users to control screen brightness, switch desktops, open the calculator, adjust the keyboard backlight brightness, control media playback, mute the sound, and control volume.
The ThundeRobot T96 is constructed with a combination of ABS upper and lower covers and PBT keycaps, ensuring durability and a comfortable typing experience. The PBT keycaps are double-shot or triple-shot injection molded, making them resistant to fading and wear.
The wired keyboard is compatible with various operating systems, including Windows XP/Vista/Win7/Win8/Win10/Win11, Android, and Mac.
