They’ve sued Meta, arguing a section of the Communications Decency Act protects users’ right to control their online experience, including the tools they use.
The lawsuit hinges on a subsection allowing control of unwanted content. The researcher argues this extends to social media, giving users the right to “opt out of the algorithm.” Will the courts side with users?
