Sigma is rumored to be releasing a second-generation 24-70mm F2.8 lens on May 16th. Leaked images from SonyAlphaRumors point towards the fact that the lens will be available in E/L mount options.

The current iteration of this Sigma lens was released in November 2019

This new lens is expected to boast improvements over the first generation, including better optical quality, a more compact and lightweight design, and enhanced focusing and tracking capabilities.

The current Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN lens, released in November 2019, features 19 elements in 15 groups (including 6 FLD lenses, 2 SLD lenses, and 3 aspherical lenses) for impressive image quality. It has a constant f/2.8 aperture, minimum aperture of f/22, 11 aperture blades, and a minimum focusing distance of 18-38cm. The filter size is 82mm and it weighs 830g (E mount) or 835g (L mount).
