Xiaomi has launched a new smart doorbell camera, the Xiaomi Smart Maoyan 2. Available for purchase on e-commerce platforms like JD.com starting May 22nd at a price of 599 yuan (approximately $83 USD), the Maoyan 2 is packed with features to enhance your home security.

The Maoyan 2’s built-in 8000 mAh battery offers up to 300 days in long-life mode

The doorbell boasts a 3-megapixel high-definition camera with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 and HDR support. This ensures clear and detailed images, even in challenging lighting conditions. The 180-degree wide-angle lens minimizes blind spots outside your door, providing a comprehensive view of your entryway. For clear night vision without the red exposure common in many night vision cameras, the Maoyan 2 is equipped with 8 940nm infrared night vision lights and a high-sensitivity sensor.

When someone rings the doorbell, a clear view of the visitor is displayed on the doorbell’s built-in 5-inch 720p high-definition screen with a fully bonded tempered glass display. The doorbell also packs a long-lasting punch with its built-in 8000mAh battery, offering up to 300 days in long-life mode and 150 days in real-time viewing mode.

Security is further enhanced with built-in dual PIR human body infrared sensors that cover a wide 180-degree horizontal range. Whenever motion is detected, the camera automatically triggers recording. The three-level detection sensitivity can also be adjusted to suit your specific needs.

The Xiaomi Smart Maoyan 2 goes beyond just a doorbell with its smart connectivity features. It connects to the Xiaomi Mijia app, enabling you to initiate video calls with visitors and utilize voice-changing functions to disguise your voice during conversations. It also supports quick replies for common deliveries and even allows for custom voice message recordings.

Xiaomi has also integrated event casting and voice control into the Maoyan 2. The doorbell can cast events to connected Xiaomi speakers and TVs, enabling you to view visitors on larger screens in real-time. Additionally, it supports voice control through Xiao Ai for functions like turning on the camera or checking the battery level.
