Vivo is gearing up to expand its V series with the new V40 smartphones. The base model in the lineup, the Vivo V40, has now been spotted on the Global Certification Forum (GCF) website with the model number V2348.

While the GCF listing itself offers no details on the specifications of the upcoming phone, it does strongly suggest an imminent launch. The phone was previously also spotted with the same model number in the IMEI database.

Earlier this month, we exclusively reported that Vivo is also cooking Vivo V40 Pro and V40e alongside the base models. Those devices have model numbers V2347 and V2403, respectively.

That means you can expect at least three new smartphones in the Vivo V40 series, in addition to the Vivo V40 SE, which launched in March. The Vivo V40 Pro has also appeared on the UK carrier’s EE website. It doesn’t reveal any specifications about the phone, except the fact that it will have NFC support.

As per a recent report by 91mobiles, the launch timeframe for the V40 lineup in markets like India is expected to be between August and September 2024.

There are also rumors about a possible V40 Lite variant, which has been listed on the Bluetooth SIG certification website.

The Vivo V40 series is expected to be a rebrand of the Vivo S19 series for the global. The company has just confirmed that the S19 series will launch on May 30 in China.

Typically, there’s a two-month delay between the China-exclusive S-series and the global V-series launch. So the rumored August launch for the Vivo V40 series seems likely.
