The Qin L and Haibao 06 DM-i will be the first models to benefit from the technology
BYD is set to unveil its fifth-generation DM technology on May 28th, with the Qin L and Haibao 06 DM-i being the first models to benefit from it. This new generation of plug-in hybrid technology is also expected to power the new Tang DM-i, likely featuring a 1.5-liter engine and an electric drive motor.
For reference, the current BYD Qin L boasts a 1.5-liter engine generating 74 kilowatts, paired with an electric drive motor available in two configurations offering peak power outputs of 120 kilowatts and 160 kilowatts.
With the current BYD Tang DM-i offered in 7 variants and priced between 179,800 and 269,800 yuan, stay tuned for further updates as we await the official reveal of the new BYD Tang DM-i.
