BYD has offered a glimpse of their upcoming electric hatchback car, the BYD Seal 06 GT, through a set of camouflaged photos leaked online. This new pure electric hatchback has been spotted previously in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s catalog under various names including “Seal X”, “Seal MINI”, and “Seal 05EV”. While the final name might be “Seal 06 GT”, an official launch is expected sometime in the third quarter of this year.
The BYD Seal 06 GT is a mid-size hatchback with a spacious and comfy interior
The camouflaged images reveal a stylish hatchback design with a closed front grille, a wraparound front fascia, and L-shaped accents. The overall silhouette leans towards a sporty look, accentuated by hidden door handles and a floating roof design. The taillights appear to follow the popular trend of connected taillights.

Based on the leaked dimensions, the BYD Seal 06 GT will be a mid-size hatchback with a length of 4630mm, a width of 1880mm, and a height of 1490mm. The wheelbase stretches to 2820mm, suggesting a spacious and comfortable interior.
Buyers will have a variety of 18-inch and 19-inch wheel options to personalize their BYD Seal 06 GT. Additionally, the car will come with a choice of front and rear side skirts in different styles.

In terms of performance, BYD offers a choice between single-motor and dual-motor four-wheel drive configurations. The single-motor option provides two power levels: 160 kW and 165 kW. The dual-motor setup combines a 110 kW front AC asynchronous motor with a 200 kW rear permanent magnet synchronous motor. BYD is advertising three different driving range options (based on the CLTC standard): 505km, 550km, and 605km.
