DuckDuckGo, the search engine known for its strong focus on user privacy, has launched DuckDuckGo AI Chat. This new service allows you to interact with powerful generative AI chatbots completely anonymously and for free.
DuckDuckGo will remove any personal information from the queries
This AI Chat acts as a middleman between you and the chatbots. You can ask questions or provide prompts, and DuckDuckGo AI Chat will route them to the appropriate chatbot (like OpenAI GPT-3.5 Turbo or Anthropic’s Claude 3 Haiku) while removing any personal information from your queries. The chatbots themselves will only see DuckDuckGo’s IP address, not yours, further protecting your anonymity.

While some chatbots might temporarily store your conversations, this one assures users that this data is deleted within 30 days and cannot be used to train or improve the AI models.
The service is free to use, but there’s a daily limit on the number of interactions to prevent abuse. Regular users shouldn’t encounter this limit during normal use. DuckDuckGo plans to expand the number of chatbots available in the future, offering you even more options to explore the capabilities of advanced AI and have anonymous conversations.
