Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new flip phone, the Mix Flip, with a global audience in its sights. The company dabbled in foldables with the Mix Fold series, those devices unfolded like a book, which opened like a book, but these were only available in China.

However, Xiaomi seems to be considering a global launch for its first flip phone. Evidence for this global launch comes as the Mix Flip has been spotted on Thailand’s regulatory body, NBTC.

The NBTC certification shows the phone’s model number as 2405CPX3DG and clearly labels it as a Xiaomi Mix Flip. Since NBTC certification is required for devices to launch in the Thai market, it suggests that the Mix Flip won’t be limited to China.

Furthermore, it appears that Thailand may receive the global version of the clamshell phone, as the model number ends with the letter “G,” indicating a global variant. Recently, the device was also spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification.

Turning to the expected specifications, the Mix Flip is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The display is tipped to offer a 1.5K resolution.

In terms of cameras, the phone is speculated to boast a 32MP selfie camera in the front while the rear setup will include a 50MP main sensor (likely the OV50E with a 1/1.55-inch size), and an OV60A sensor for telephoto capabilities.

Additionally, a 3C certification hinted at 67W fast charging support, with the battery capacity expected to fall somewhere between 4800mAh and 4900mAh.

Xiaomi Mix Flip may also get satellite connectivity support as revealed by a listing on the GSMA’s IMEI database last month.

As for the release date, there’s no specific timeframe mentioned for the launch of the Xiaomi Mix Flip. But it may launch before Xiaomi 15 series which is rumored for October. So an August or September launch could be plausible.
