Vivo’s latest phone boasts an impressive 80W charging speed, but there’s a catch – the charging adapter isn’t included in the box and you need to buy it separately. After Apple removed the charger from the box, Samsung was one of the first to follow it. Initially with Samsung’s flagship devices and later with cheaper Galaxy A series.

Chinese manufacturers were initially hesitant to follow Apple’s lead in removing chargers, as they typically dominate fast-charging technology and require proprietary chargers for high-speed standards. vivo V40 5G supports blazing fast 80W charging but strangely, it doesn’t come with a charging adapter in the box.

vivo V40 shares identical specs with the vivo S19 available in China. Both phones support 80W charging, but the Chinese variant includes the charger, while the global variant does not. Additionally, the base variant of the global version doesn’t include a case (8GB+256GB), whereas the 12GB+512GB model does. It’s worth noting that the global variant has a 500 mAh lower battery capacity compared to the Chinese variant.

vivo V40 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, and it comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage unit. It is available in two configurations: 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB.

The phone features a 6.78-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260). It is available in two colors: Stella Silver and Nebula Purple. The dual-camera setup includes a 50MP f/1.9 main camera and a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera.
