Alongside the standard Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition during the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris. The device arrives with a special design and exclusive services ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition: What’s so special?

The South Korean tech giant featured the iconic Olympic rings and Paralympic agitos in gold on the new special edition variant. But putting aside the design, it has identical hardware to the standard Galaxy Z Flip 6. This phone was exclusively designed for all the athletes who are competing at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympics. So it will not be sold to the general public. It is not just a pretty version of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and actually serves a special purpose as well. Samsung packs the device with a bunch of useful apps as well as exclusive services.

The Olympians and Paralympians get access to Athlete 365, 6 Olympic Shop, Paris 2024, Transport Accred App, and IOC hotline. Every Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition gets an eSIM with 100GB of 5G data in partnership with Orange and two years of international warranty. The athletes can use the latest flip phone for wireless payments via Samsung Wallet. There is even a preloaded app for free beverages in vending machines located throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Village in partnership with Worldwide Partner.

While you can’t purchase them, the special version of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be showcased at the Olympic rendezvous at Samsung showcases. The IOC and IPC have also collaborated with the brand to give these devices to the athletes. Samsung will send out the Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition to athletes on 18th July 2024, with its official launch set for 24th July 2024.
