Lava has officially announced a new budget smartphone in its home market of India. The device in question is the new Yuva Star, which is an affordable model that supports 4G connectivity. It also offers a clean UI experience from Android Go, so here’s the rest of the key details.

The company aimed to offer capable specs for budget pricing. The Yuva Star sports a tall 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a standard 60Hz refresh rate and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. Meanwhile, the rear houses a 13-megapixel primary shooter and a secondary AI sensor with an LED flash module. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports standard 10W charging via a USB Type-C port.

Under the hood, it is equipped with the UNISOC 9863A SoC that is coupled with a PowerVR GE8322 GPU. Users also get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, the storage can be bumped via a microSD card slot along with support for virtual RAM expansion up to 4GB. Other notable features include a water drop notch, a side mounted fingerprint scanner, and face unlock. This device runs on the Android 14 Go Edition and promises to offer a clean and user friendly UI.

Lava has announced the new Yuva Star in a single storage configuration that costs 6,499 INR (roughly 77 US Dollars). It will be available in multiple color options, namely White, Black, and Lavender. The smartphone is available across retail outlets in the region. The brand is even offering a service at home facility for customers who purchase this device.
