The Redmi K80 series has been spotted on the IMEI database which means the device will be officially announced soon. To recall, the Redmi K70 series was released in November last year.
In the latest news, a tipster has shared a concept render of the Redmi K80 Pro, revealing the back design. As can be seen, the phone is expected to move away from the large rectangular camera island in favor of a cleaner circular design. Another notable difference is the placement of the Redmi logo, which is now positioned vertically in the bottom left corner of the phone, instead of being centered horizontally like on the predecessor.
Redmi K70 Pro could come with a different back design

While the design of the camera island has changed, the placement of the camera sensors and the flash module appears to remain the same. Notably, this rendering is also in line with the previous rumor from renowned tipster Digital Chat Station.
The phone is rumored to boast improved imaging capabilities and include a 50 MP main sensor and a periscope telephoto. For context, the Redmi K70 Pro equips a 50 MP 1/1.55″ main sensor, a 50 MP periscope telephoto, and a 12 MP ultrawide.
Last year, the K70 and K70 Pro were powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips respectively. This year, the company is rumored to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chips for the standard and pro model respectively. This could be paired with a larger 6000mAh battery which will support the 120W wired charging, same as the predecessor.
The K80 series is also expected to upgrade from the under-display optical fingerprint scanner to an ultrasonic one for an improved unlocking experience. In terms of display, the entire series is expected to be equipped with a 2K flat OLED screen.
