Xiaomi has released a new USB Type-C port variant of the Redmi A27U monitor. The variant without the Type-C port was launched back in August.

The USB Type-C port on the new Redmi A27U supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, allowing users to connect their laptops or other compatible devices directly to the monitor without the need for additional cables. This feature is particularly useful for those who prefer a clutter-free setup.

In addition to the USB Type-C port, the new Redmi A27U retains its impressive specifications. It maintains a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160), a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and a 6 ms response time. The IPS panel offers a wide color gamut coverage, with 95% and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 and sRGB color spaces, respectively.

Pricing & availability

The new Redmi A27U is currently available in China for CNY 1,399 (~$200), and there is no confirmation yet regarding its global availability.

In other news, Xiaomi has launched its first Mini LED gaming monitor internationally, the Mini LED Gaming Monitor G Pro 27i. This 27-inch monitor features a QHD resolution (2560 x 1440), 180Hz refresh rate, 1 ms response time, and AMD FreeSync for smooth gaming. Its standout feature is the Mini LED backlight with 1152 local dimming zones, enabling peak HDR brightness of 1,000 nits and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.
