A big leak from last week revealed all of the key specs and features of the upcoming Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A16 4G models. Now, Samsung has officially debuted the Galaxy A16 5G so we finally have its official pricing. The brand’s new budget phone packs a tall AMOLED display, a big battery, long software support, and much more. So here are all the details.

The Galaxy A16 5G is the direct successor to the Galaxy A15 5G and comes with some upgrades. Samsung’s latest budget smartphone sports a taller 6.7-inch AMOLED display that offers a 90Hz refresh rate, 800 nits of peak brightness, and FHD resolution. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 25W wired fast charging. Unlike the Galaxy A15 5G, the Galaxy A16 5G features an Exynos 1330 SoC moving away from MediaTek’s Dimensity.

This processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can even expand storage by up to 1.5TB via a microSD card slot. One of the most notable aspects of the Galaxy A16 5G is undoubtedly its long software support. This is the first budget Galaxy A series model to promise up to 6 major Android OS updates. Since it arrives with the Android 14 OS based One UI 6.0 custom skin out of the box, it will even the Android “20” update in a couple of years. So you are also getting 6 years of security updates as well.

For optics, the Galaxy A16 5G offers a 50MP (main) + 5MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) camera setup on the rear and a 13MP sensor for selfies and video calls on the front. Other notable features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.3, and IP54 water and dust resistance. The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G arrives in three color options, namely Midnight Blue, Turquoise, and Gray. it has an official price tag of 249 Euros with sales set to start in France soon.
