Samsung One UI 7 beta

Samsung’s latest Android skin, One UI 7, is almost ready and will be available for public testing in the coming days. It will be based on Android 15 and bring many exciting features and improvements. In fact, it’s said to be the biggest upgrade in the history of One UI.

Even if you own a Samsung Galaxy that’s due to receive the One UI 7 upgrade, it’s not guaranteed to be eligible for the beta program. Samsung only allows a limited number of Galaxy phones to get an early taste of the new software via the beta program.

As of writing this post, Samsung has not officially announced any details about the One UI 7 beta eligible devices, though the beta program is confirmed to arrive this year. The latest flagships, Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold 6/Flip 6, are guaranteed to be on the list. The One UI 7 beta program will also expand to many Galaxy flagship and mid-range phones.

Vivo and Google are already rolling out the stable Android 15 update, but Samsung is stuck with One UI 7.0 beta, and there’s a good reason for it. The South Korean giant isn’t in a hurry this time, as it’s reportedly working to deliver less buggy software with a great user experience.

If not this month, the One UI 7.0 beta will surely be announced in November, while the stable build is confirmed to arrive with the Galaxy S25 series that’s launching sometime in January 2025. Then, it will expand to older Galaxy devices.

One UI 7.0: What to expect?

Samsung is expected to bring significant under-the-hood changes to One UI 7 that will greatly benefit animations, stability, and app switching. So, you’ll have a snappier software experience with fewer bugs.

The new software will reportedly include new icons, widgets, wallpapers, and large folders. You may also see a revamped camera interface, a new unlock animation and new icons for battery and charging. Leaked screenshots show the control center getting big toggles for adjusting brightness and volume.

The upcoming One UI 7 might add independent gestures to open the control center and notification center, which are already available on Xiaomi’s HyperOS and some other Android skins. One UI 7.0 might bundle more features we’ll know about once the beta program goes official.
