The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R are set to launch globally on January 7. While the OnePlus 13 is already well-known, having been available in China since October, details about the OnePlus 13R remain unclear. It is rumored to be a rebranded version of the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 5. However, the company has now shared the first official details about the 13R.

OnePlus 13R

In the latest teaser on Amazon India, the brand has confirmed that the 13R will debut with a massive 6,000mAh battery, matching the capacity of the flagship model. This marks a 500mAh increase over its predecessor, the OnePlus 12R. The China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 5 will have a slightly bigger 6,400mAh battery. The brand also revealed that the phone will be available in two nature-inspired color options: Nebula Noir and Astral Trail.

In addition, the OnePlus 13R is confirmed to feature a flat display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The back will also feature the same protection, and the frame will be made of aluminum and 8 mm thick. From previous leaks, we know that the OnePlus 13R will debut with last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. We can expect the device to offer a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 4,500 nits of peak brightness and a resolution of 1264×2780 pixels. The refresh rate will be 120Hz and the panel will be capable of reaching up to 1600 nits in direct sunlight.

Reports claim that the device will feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor (f/1.8), an 8MP ultrawide lens (f/2.2), and a secondary 50MP sensor (f/2.0), likely for portrait shots or zoom. For selfies, it will sport a 16MP front camera (f/2.4). The secondary 50MP sensor is an upgrade over its predecessor, offering improved image quality, particularly in diverse lighting conditions.

The large 6,000mAh battery will reportedly be paired with 80W fast charging, which is a slight downgrade compared to last year’s model which offers 100W fast charging. More details are expected to be confirmed ahead of the early January launch, so stay tuned.
