OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 13R smartphones on January 7, alongside a new color variant for the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro. Additionally, reports suggest the brand is developing a new smartwatch. According to an exclusive report by Smartprix, the OnePlus Watch 3 is slated for a global launch in Q1 2025, aiming to deliver a more functional, feature-packed device to strengthen its position in the competitive wearables market.

A render shared alongside the report suggests that the OnePlus Watch 3 retains the sleek design of its predecessor but introduces a key feature: a rotary dial. Similar to Apple’s Digital Crown, this feature improves navigation, especially in situations where touchscreen controls are impractical, such as when hands are wet. It will have added ECG functionality to further elevate the health tracking capabilities of the Watch 3, allowing it to compete with premium models like the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch. However, market-specific health certifications may limit its availability.
Another standout feature of the Watch 3 could be LTE connectivity, enabling the device to operate independently from a smartphone. This would allow users to make calls, receive notifications, and stream music without needing a paired phone. However, this feature may initially be restricted to certain markets, with China being a likely first destination.
The report also suggests that the Watch 3 could pack a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The report suggests that the watch will have a 500mAh battery, however, a previous FCC certification has claimed that it will feature a larger 631mAh battery. Like its predecessor, it will run on a dual OS setup of WearOS and RTOS.
The previous FCC listing has also claimed the OnePlus Watch 3, with model number OPWWE251 will measure 46.6 x 47.6 x 11.75mm, making it slightly larger than last year’s model. Since it has picked up the FCC certification, we can expect a global launch soon. More details are expected to emerge in the coming days, so stay tuned.
