Samsung will reportedly release its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 series, on February 7th next year. Packed with cutting-edge specifications and advanced AI capabilities, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to set new standards for flagship devices.
S25 Slim will reportedly launch alongside the other three models
According to industry sources, Samsung will host its ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event in the United States at 3 am on January 23rd, Korean time. The event will showcase the Galaxy S25 series for the first time. Following the announcement, pre-orders will commence on January 24th and run until February 3rd. Pre-order customers will gain early access on February 4th, while the official launch in Korea is scheduled for February 7th.

This timeline deviates slightly from the Galaxy S24 series’ release earlier this year on January 31st, suggesting Samsung’s commitment to refining its product for a compelling launch. The Galaxy S25 series will consist of four models: base, Plus, Ultra, and the newly introduced Galaxy S25 Slim, which emphasizes reduced weight and thickness to cater to growing consumer preferences for sleek, lightweight designs. Surprisingly, a recent rumor claims that the phone could boast the same battery capacity as the larger and heavier Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Slim marks Samsung’s return to ultra-thin devices, a concept last seen with the Galaxy Alpha in 2014. Although the exact thickness remains undisclosed, it is expected to be slimmer than the Galaxy S24’s 7.6mm.
Rumored specifications:
The Galaxy S25 series promises significant hardware improvements. While Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset faces production challenges, the entire lineup is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, ensuring top-tier performance. The Ultra models will offer up to 16GB of RAM for 512GB and 1TB configurations, making it the first Galaxy S series device since the S21 Ultra to include such high RAM capacity. This expansion is aimed at optimizing on-device AI functions.
Camera upgrades are another highlight, with the ultra-wide-angle lens receiving a significant boost from 12MP to 50MP. Samsung’s next-generation operating system, One UI 7, will debut on the Galaxy S25 series, focusing on enhanced security for generative AI capabilities.
