Nothing Phone 3a leak: Snapdragon & Telephoto

Nothing is known for its phones with a unique transparent design with LED strips. This aesthetic began with its first ever phone to the latest model. The Nothing OS 3.0 custom skin stable update just began rolling out for the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (2a). Snooping around in the code of the Nothing OS 3, AndroidAuthority managed to find some interesting details regarding three upcoming smartphones, namely “Phone (3a)”, “Phone (3a) Plus”, and “CMF Phone (2)”.

The Android 15 OS update from Nothing carries codenames for these devices, which includes asteroids, asteroids_plus, and galaga respectively. These sighting revealed some crucial details regarding the chips that power the new smartphones. The Nothing Phone 3a and Nothing Phone 3a Plus are expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. On the other hand, the CMF Phone 2 will reportedly pack a processor from MediaTek, likely from the Dimensity lineup.

Nothing Phone 2a

Typically, Nothing branded smartphones usually pack a dual camera setup with a main camera and an ultra wide angle lens. But there are clues that hint that the Phone 3a could launch with a telephoto camera. Meanwhile, the Phone 3a Plus might get a periscope telephoto shooter. So there is Nothing Phones are getting more versatile in photography with this upgrade.

That’s not all, users might soon be getting eSIM support for the first time on Nothing smartphones starting with the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Plus models. CMF Phone 2 would likely get upgrades over the last generation but is expected to continue its affordable pricing.
