The highly anticipated POCO F7 series will reportedly feature three models: the POCO F7, POCO F7 Pro, and the newly introduced POCO F7 Ultra. As the successor to the POCO F6, this series is expected to bring significant upgrades, and a recent leak has revealed exciting details about the base POCO F7 model.
Poco F7 chipset and battery details (rumored)
According to renowned tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, the POCO F7 will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset. This processor is reportedly a slightly underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, delivering performance superior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and slightly below the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While the chipset’s official debut is expected in early 2025, the POCO F7 is rumored to be among the first wave of devices to feature it, likely hitting the market in April 2025.
DCS also mentioned that phones with large 7,000mAh batteries will soon become a trend, and the POCO F7 could be leading the charge.
Additional leaks suggest the handset will sport a 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display, the Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset, and a 7,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. This combination of features positions the POCO F7 as a powerful mid-range contender with top-tier specifications.
Interestingly, the POCO F7 is expected to be a rebranded version of the rumored Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, while the Pro and Ultra variants might be based on the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, respectively. While the POCO F7 may arrive in April 2025, its Pro and Ultra counterparts might debut slightly earlier.
The POCO F7 has already bagged the BIS certification in India under the model number 2412DPC0AI, indicating that its launch in the region is imminent. Previously spotted on the GSMA database and Singapore’s IMDA listing, the device’s connectivity features include 5G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC support. This further confirms the global availability of the device.
For context, the POCO F6 launched in India earlier this year at a starting price of ₹29,999. Considering POCO’s pricing strategy, the F7 series could arrive in a similar price range, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious consumers seeking high performance. With a likely launch timeline of mid-2025, the POCO F7 series is shaping up to be a game-changer in the mid-range smartphone segment.
