OnePlus seems ready to expand its Ace 5 lineup with the introduction of the Ace 5V. As the successor to the Ace 3V launched earlier this year in March, the Ace 5V promises notable upgrades in hardware and performance. Leaks have revealed its chipset and massive battery capacity, hinting at a power-packed offering.

The Ace 5V will reportedly be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9350 SoC. According to a prominent leaker on Weibo, Digital Chat Station, this chipset can be considered an enhanced version of the Dimensity 9300, dubbed “Dimensity 9300++.” The new SoC is expected to bring minor performance boosts along with improved power efficiency compared to its predecessor.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9350 will compete directly with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Elite, the successor to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. For further reference about the performance, the Snapdragon 8s Elite has previously been tipped to have better performance than 8 Gen 2. This competition signals that OnePlus intends to position the Ace 5V as a high-performance mid-range smartphone with flagship-level processing power.
Apart from its impressive chipset, the Ace 5V will sport a “1.5K” flat display with slim bezels, ensuring a premium viewing experience. One of its standout features is its massive 7,000mAh battery, which surpasses the 6,400mAh battery on the recently launched Ace 5.
For context, the Ace 3V, which the Ace 5V will replace, featured a 5,500mAh battery and supported 100W fast charging. It was powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset and equipped with a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary lens. While camera details for the Ace 5V remain unclear, it is likely to follow or improve upon its predecessor’s setup.

Potential global launch as Nord 5
Interestingly, the OnePlus Ace 3V was rebranded (with external redesign) as the Nord 4 for global markets. This trend suggests that the Ace 5V could similarly launch internationally as the OnePlus Nord 5, with slight modifications. This strategy allows OnePlus to cater to both the Chinese and global markets efficiently. OnePlus hasn’t revealed an official launch date for the Ace 5V, but it’s expected to debut in the coming weeks.
