Asus has quietly introduced the ROG Phone 9 FE, a more budget-friendly alternative to the flagship ROG Phone 9, now available on the Asus Thailand website. While retaining core gaming features, this version makes strategic adjustments to deliver a premium experience at a lower price. Here is a look at what’s in store for those looking forward to purchasing the FE variant.
Asus ROG Phone 9 FE specifications and features
The Asus ROG Phone 9 FE features a 6.78-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED LTPO screen with HDR10+ support and up to 2,500 nits of brightness. The screen supports a dynamic refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, with an option to boost up to 165Hz in system settings or 185Hz in Game Genie.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. A 5,500mAh battery fuels the device, supporting 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
Running on Android 15 with ROG UI, the ROG Phone 9 FE features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor with gimbal OIS, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel RGBW front camera.
Gaming-focused features include AirTrigger pressure-sensitive shoulder controls and an AniMe Mini-LED (85 dots) programmable matrix on the back. It supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. Regarding durability, the phone comes with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for the display and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. It measures 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs 225 grams.

While it lacks the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a larger 5,800mAh battery, and 512GB storage found in the standard ROG Phone 9, it remains a compelling option for mobile gamers seeking a high-performance device at a lower price point.
