The iPhone 17 Pro is still months away from launch, but leaks about its design overhaul are circulating for some time now. Early leaks claim Apple might rearrange the rear camera layout, but new 3D renders from Jon Prosser hint at a more dramatic change — a wide “camera bar” spanning the back of the device.
In the latest video on his Front Page Tech channel, Prosser shared renders of the iPhone 17 Pro based on insider information. The images show that the company may not change the camera layout, instead will keep the familiar triple-camera arrangement—just within a much wider bump.
A design more like Poco phones?
The redesigned module stretches across the rear, with the three lenses still positioned on the left, while the LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor shift to the right. The bar itself appears taller than earlier renders suggested, giving the phone a distinctly different profile.
Visually, the design feels reminiscent of Xiaomi’s budget-focused Poco phones. And if these renders hold up, it’s hard to be excited about what looks like an uninspired shift in Apple’s design language.

Prosser also refutes earlier rumors that suggested a two-tone finish for the Pro models’ back panel. Instead, he says Apple will maintain a single-color rear panel, with the camera bar finished in a darker shade to create visual contrast.
Another notable detail from the report is that the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be lighter than its predecessor, though there’s no information yet on what material changes might be responsible for this reduction in weight.

Of course, as with all leaks, there’s reason to be cautious. While Prosser has been accurate in the past, he has also shared product renders that didn’t pan out. Still, the repeated mentions of a camera bar across different leaks suggest that Apple is at least experimenting with a new look for its Pro models.
