Last week, tipster Digital Chat Station leaked the display details of Appleās long-rumored foldable device. Early leaks claimed Apple would not launch a horizontally foldable iPhone but instead go ahead with a flip-style foldable phone. However, newer leaks suggest that the company is now preparing to launch a book-style foldable phone. Today, the tipster is back with a new Weibo post to reveal that Apple will have a unique approach for its upcoming foldable iPhone.
Appleās foldable prototype surfaces with new design details

According to Digital Chat Stationās Weibo post, the prototype Apple is currently testing features a 5.49-inch outer screen and a 7.74-inch inner display. This makes it notably smaller than competing foldable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The leak states that the outer display is similar to the original Find N but shorter and wider. Upon unfolding, the device would transform into a mini-tablet experience, revealing a spacious 7.74-inch inner display, akin to a compact iPad. It appears that both displays will offer a unique screen ratio that has not been seen before.

The leaker also hinted in the comments that Apple aims to “reshape the folding ecosystem,” suggesting a fresh take on foldable technology.

Apple is expected to adopt a new design for the iPhone 17 series, which is anticipated to launch in September 2025. Reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro will adopt a new rectangular camera module with three cameras on the left and an LED flash along with some sensors on the right, as shown in a render shared by FrontPageTech. Thereās a possibility that the foldable iPhone may sport a similar camera module in a bid to standardize the design across its upcoming iPhones.

According to tipster Experience More, Appleās foldable iPhone will not be priced at 19,999 Yuan (~$2,750) as some reports have claimed. Just as the Samsung Ultra, Huawei Ultra/RS, and Apple Pro Max models fall within the same price range, Apple’s foldable iPhone is expected to be in the same price bracket as Samsung and Huawei’s foldable devices when it launches.
As for the launch, Apple is expected to release it in 2026. At present, there is no information about the official moniker of the device.
