Samsung Galaxy S25 series

Samsung has updated its security update plan for April 2025 that reveals which Galaxy devices will get monthly, quarterly, or biannually security updates. The list is updated every month to include new Galaxy devices, remove outdated ones, and to highlight changes in security patch rollout for existing devices.

According to the official website, the April 2025 plan includes 36 devices for monthly security updates, 87 devices for quarterly security updates, and 21 devices for biannual security updates. Samsung has revealed how often its Galaxy watches and personal computers will receive security updates.

Samsung’s April 2025 security patch details

Samsung has also detailed the vulnerabilities that get patched with the April 2025 security patch. It addresses over 60 vulnerabilities that were found in the previous software version. Of those, 45 come from Google, while the rest are Samsung-specific vulnerabilities that are only found in Samsung phones.

Google has marked 4 vulnerabilities as “critica” and 36 as “high” level. The remaining 5 that comes from Google doesn’t apply to Samsung devices. Additionally, the security patch includes one high-level Samsung semiconductor patch. The security patch also addresses 14 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities related to  Sticker Center, Clipboard Service, HDCP, Samsung Contacts, Galaxy watches, Samsung Device Health Manager Service, and more.
