Xiaomi has just confirmed the launch date for an upcoming Redmi budget smartphone. The model in question is the Redmi A5, which is set to debut in the Indian market next week with a big battery, ultra smooth display, and much more. So here’s what we know.
Redmi A5 drops in India on April 15
The Chinese tech giant announced that the Redmi A5 will debut in India on 15th April 2025. To recall, this launch arrives after the company released this budget phone in the global market earlier this month. Looking at the teaser, the company has confirmed that the Redmi A5 sports a tall 6.88-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. Meanwhile, the rear packs a 32MP camera.
A sizeable 5,200mAh battery pack powers the Redmi A5, which supports 15W wired fast charging. Under the hood, this model is equipped with the UNISOC T7250 SoC. For security, there is a side mounted fingerprint scanner. While the official pricing is still unclear, the smartphone is expected to launch with a starting price tag of under Rs 10,000. The Redmi A5 is confirmed to launch in three color options as well, which includes Pondicherry Blue, Just Black, and Jaisalmer Gold.
