At a recent event held in Hong Kong, XPENG launched the 2025 XPENG X9, a new electric MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle), which is the company’s new global flagship. It’s the first XPENG model to ship standard with their new Turing AI Smart Driving system, which means from day one, it can handle hands-free highway cruising, automatic lane changes, and even parking lot navigation without breaking a sweat.

The X9 comes with 496 technical upgrades, and about 35% of its parts are newly developed. It runs on XPENG’s 800V platform, letting you charge super fast. You can add 405 km of range in just 10 minutes, or charge from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes using the 5C Superfast Charging AI battery. On top of that, its energy use stands at just 16.2 kWh per 100 km—currently the lowest in its class.

Inside the cabin, the X9 includes zero-gravity reclining seats, a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen, wireless fast charging pads, customizable ambient lighting, and a third row that folds flat at the touch of a button. The AI-powered adaptive suspension adjusts in real-time to road conditions, helping ensure smoother rides.

In terms of safety, XPENG says the X9 has earned top scores across major crash tests. It comes with 14 active safety features, including automatic emergency braking. The battery pack has also been stress-tested to withstand high-impact scenarios, reportedly equivalent to 10 bullet strikes.

Powering all this is XPENG’s in-house Turing AI Chip, a 40-core processor capable of running 30-billion-parameter models locally, delivering triple the computing power of the brand’s previous generation. Mass production of the chip is set to begin in mid-2025.
The X9 will begin rolling out in Europe in late 2025, starting in select countries. Pricing hasn’t been finalized yet, but based on XPENG’s current lineup in Europe, it’s expected to start above €40,000.
XPENG is supporting this launch with an established charging network of 2,110 self-operated ultra-fast charging stations. The brand has also formed strategic partnerships with major global players such as Volkswagen and bp pulse. Its charging network now spans Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and 27 European countries, with a total of 2.07 million charging points across 31 markets worldwide.
