TCL has introduced a new addition to its big-screen lineup with the launch of the 85-inch Q5K Series TV, now available at Best Buy in the US for $749.99. Also known as the TCL 85Q5K, this model features a 4K QLED panel and comes loaded with Google TV, marking a shift from the Fire TV interface used in its predecessor, the 85Q550F.

It features a massive 85-inch display with 4K (2160p) resolution and a 60Hz native refresh rate. The QLED panel comes with a direct LED backlight and supports HDR Pro+, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG, offering deep contrast and vivid colors. TCL equips the TV with its AIPQ Processor, which uses deep learning to optimize picture clarity, contrast, and saturation scene by scene.

The Q5K sports Motion Rate 240 with MEMC frame insertion, which helps reduce blur during fast-moving scenes. For gamers, it comes with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) to reduce input lag. Sound is handled by integrated speakers that support Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X, delivering immersive audio directly from the TV.

On the software side, it runs on Google TV, giving users access to streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and YouTube, with built-in support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. It also comes with Chromecast built-in for seamless casting and Apple AirPlay 2 for iOS users.

For connectivity, it features three HDMI ports (including one with eARC), two USB ports, composite video input, optical audio out, and 3.5mm audio, along with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless pairing. The design sports a bezel-less metal frame and an adjustable-width stand to fit various setups.

In related news, TCL has also introduced its new T6C-UK QLED Fire TVs in the UK, featuring 4K HDR support, 120Hz gaming, and built-in Freely live TV. Meanwhile, in China, the company launched the Thunderbird Crane 7 Pro QD-Mini LED TV (2025), which boasts 4200 nits peak brightness, a 144Hz refresh rate, and an ad-free viewing experience.
