Casio brought the elegant Edifice EFR-575CL-3A with gold accents to India, but another recent announcement brings something a little more modern and unique. The brand was unveiled the G-Shock GBX-100S that features a transparent body and metallic frame. So let’s check it out.
Casio’s GBX-100S G-Shock Watch Mixes Transparency with Toughness
The company’s brand new G-Shock lineup is the G-Lide GBX-100S-1 and GBX-100S-2. G-Shock watches are known for their durability, but these aren’t just any other rugged models. The G-Lide watches are for surfers, bringing features that can be handy to surfing enthusiasts. One highlight includes the Bluetooth support that allows users to connect the GBX-100S series to the Casio Watches app to get access to tools like tide graphs, moon data, sunrise/sunset times.

Apart from this, it can also track other basic workout metrics like distance, speed, pace, and more. The G-Lide surfing watches feature a unique transparent resin case that are inspired by the “waves sparkling in the sunlight” while the robust casing itself is built using metal. Other notable features include world time, stopwatch, replaceable battery (2 years of battery life), shock resistance, and 20 ATM water resistance as well.
Pricing and Availability
The new Casio G-Shock G-Lide GBX-100S-1 and GBX-100S-2 are currently available for pre-order in Japan. These are also listed for 28,600 Japanese yen, which is roughly around 198 US Dollars. The brand is expected to begin open sale of the surfing watches sometime in May, although, their global availability in marks like the US or Europe is still unclear. This announcement also arrives after Casio launched the G-Shock Goliath Frogman Watch in the UK and Japan.
