Meizu is set to unveil its next budget-friendly smartphone lineup next week, according to information shared by the brand on Chinese social platforms. The new devices, part of the Meizu Note 16 series, will debut alongside the updated Flyme AIOS 2 system during a live-streamed event on May 13 at 2:30pm (China time).

Meizu Note 16 series launching on May 13

The Meizu Note 16 lineup will include two models – the standard Note 16 and the Note 16 Pro. Both phones have been teased with a refreshed design, including flat edges and unique rear camera layouts. The regular variant features an octagonal camera module inspired by ancient Chinese architecture, while the Pro version opts for a circular module. Both phones are equipped with a ring LED flash.

The Note 16 series will mark the debut of the Flyme AIOS 2 platform on non-flagship devices, aiming to bring a more refined experience to affordable smartphones. Meizu’s design philosophy with this series focuses on comfort and balance. The Note 16 Pro, for instance, will feature a symmetric body with extremely thin bezels measuring 1.45mm, while the standard variant gets a 2.5D curved edge and a 3D back panel for better ergonomics.
