OnePlus is expected to unveil the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Ace 5 Racing Edition smartphones this month in China. While the Ultra edition will feature the Dimensity 9400 Plus, the Racing Edition will debut as the world’s first Dimensity 9400ev smartphone. Ahead of the launch, a live shot of the two smartphones has emerged on a Chinese social media platform. The image reveals that the two phones will sport a completely different camera module design compared to the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro, which debuted in December 2024.
OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra, Racing Edition design revealed
The existing OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro are equipped with a round camera module. However, the live shot of the upcoming Ace 5 series reveals that it will sport a completely different camera island.
It appears that the device shown on the left is the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra. It features a vertical dual-camera setup with an LED flash inside. The Racing Edition, which seems to be the one placed on the right, has a vertical dual-camera setup with an LED flash placed on its right.
Speculations are rife that the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition has a 6.77-inch LTPS OLED 1.5K 144Hz panel and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging. On the other hand, the Ace 5 Ultra could be equipped with a slightly bigger 6.83-inch LTPS OLED 1.5K 144Hz screen and a 7,000mAh battery with 100W charging. Both smartphones are said to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera.
According to reports, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra may remain exclusive to the Chinese market. On the other hand, the upcoming OnePlus Nord 5 for the global market could be a rebranded or tweaked version of the Ace 5 Racing Edition.
