In a recent Weibo post, Xinxin Mia asked Redmi fans why they are looking for a performance-focused compact tablet. This aligns with recent leaks that have claimed Redmi plans to launch a compact tablet equipped with an 8.8-inch screen alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra in June.

This new Redmi gaming tablet is expected to compete head-to-head with devices such as Lenovo’s Legion Y700 (fourth generation) and Red Magic’s gaming tablet. The Lenovo Legion Y700 debuted this month with an 8.8-inch LCD panel and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, while the upcoming Red Magic’s offering will include a 9-inch OLED screen, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leding Version SoC, and a built-in fan.

As per recent leaks, Redmi’s compact tablet will sport an 8.8-inch 3K LCD display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The tablet’s ergonomic design will ensure a comfortable grip for extended gaming sessions.

Under the hood, it will be powered by the robust Dimensity 9400+, the same chip that fuels the Redmi K80 Ultra. To enhance gameplay, the tablet will come with dual X-axis linear motors, dual USB-C ports, and stereo speakers. A substantial 7,500mAh battery with bypass charging support will keep the device powered during marathon gaming sessions.
