A Pura 80 series model was accidentally leaked by a Huawei executive a couple of days ago, which offered us a look at the massive rear camera module. Now, another recent leak has revealed details regarding camera hardware for the base Pura 80, so here’s why even the vanilla version will offer a top-tier photography experience.
Huawei Pura 80 to debut with high-end cameras
The news arrives from known tipster Teme, who shared the information on X (formerly Twitter). In the tweet, the tipster claimed that the Huawei Pura 80 packs a quad camera setup on the rear. This consists of a 50MP 1-inch main camera that has a variable aperture, along with a 50MP 1/1.3-inch secondary shooter that has a dual focal length. The ultra wide angle lens has a 40MP resolution, while the last camera is a 2MP color temperature sensor that helps enhance the color accuracy of pictures.

A typical telephoto shooter has a fixed focal length, so the two focal lengths on the secondary shooter likely allow for two different optical zooms. Teme also shared an image, which reveals an LED flash and Huawei’s XMAGE branding on the triangular shaped camera module. Last month, we covered a report regarding the Pura 80 Pro model, which is also expected to feature a SmartSens 1-inch primary shooter. Meaning, the entire lineup might offer a cutting edge photography experience.
An official teaser from the Chinese tech giant has confirmed that the Huawei Pura 80 series will launch in the brand’s home market on 11th June 2025. The company is promising a major leap in mobile imaging, and the camera hardware leak hints at this as well. Unfortunately, this is all the information that was shared, so stick around for more as we will be covering any fresh leaks and the official launch event.
