The Vivo X Fold 5’s teasers have started in China. Today, Vivo Product Manager for China, Han Boxiao, released the following video to tease the design of the X Fold 5. The text that appears at the end of the video claims that it sets a new record for thinness and lightness in the world of foldable phones.

Vivo X Fold 5’s first teaser released

The teaser video confirms that the Vivo X Fold 5 will be lighter than the Vivo X Fold 3, which weighs 219 grams. According to a recent report by XpertPick, the device will weigh only 209 grams and measure 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm in the folded state.

Therefore, the Vivo X Fold 5 is all set to arrive as the world’s lightest foldable phone. In comparison, the Find N5, which weighs 229 grams, measures 4.2mm in thickness in the unfolded state and 8.9mm when folded. So, the X Fold 5 is unlikely to be slimmer than the N5. It is speculated that the Honor Magic V5 foldable, debuting this month in China, could snatch the title of the world’s slimmest foldable phone as it is expected to measure around 8mm in the folded state.

While the Oppo Find N5 has the 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Magic V5 is said to be equipped with the regular version of the same chip. As far as the Vivo X Fold 5 is concerned, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Hence, there’s a possibility that it could be priced lower than the Find N5 and Magic V5. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold 5 is tentatively scheduled to launch this month (June) in China. He revealed that the company will also announce the Vivo Pad 5e tablet and Vivo TWS Air 3 Pro alongside the X Fold 5.

As far as the Pad 5e is concerned, it is tipped to feature a 12.1-inch LCD panel and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The rest of its specifications are under wraps.

While the X Fold 5 is expected to launch this month in China, it may hit the global market by early July.
